Best ASO Agencies in 2026: Top App Store Optimization Companies

top aso companies

Apple says that almost 65% of App Store downloads happen directly after a search. That single number explains why app teams keep investing in ASO. What changed over the past year is how that search gets shaped. Apple now uses large language models to generate App Store Tags from your app’s metadata. At I/O 2026, Google announced app discovery inside the Gemini app. In an AppTweak survey of 1,000 U.S. adults, 58% said they had used an AI assistant to find or choose an app.

That shifts what the best ASO agencies have to deliver in 2026. They still need to win keyword rankings and store conversion. They also need a plan for how AI systems read, tag and recommend your app, which is where GEO, AEO and LLMO come in. We cover that side in more depth in our ranking of the best GEO and AEO agencies.

To build this guide, we read each agency’s case studies and reviewed their Clutch and G2 profiles, review by review. We also compared what each firm publishes about pricing and client fit. We didn’t include any agency without a single verifiable client result. Along the way, we corrected several numbers that circulate about these agencies, and we flag those corrections in the reviews below.

Top 3 at a Glance

If you only have a minute, these are the three best app store optimization agencies for most app teams.

Agency Best For Starting Price
Applica Subscription apps in health, education, and fintech that want ASO tied to revenue Min. project $5,000+
Phiture Funded scale-ups and enterprise apps that want experiment-led ASO Min. project $25,000+
GrowPad SaaS and mobile-first product teams that need ASO plus Google and AI search visibility From $3,000/month

How We Chose These ASO Agencies

We built the shortlist from agency websites, Clutch and G2 profiles, and the Business of Apps 2026 ranking of ASO companies. All checks ran in October 2026. Every company was scored against the same six criteria:

  1. Verified ASO results. A case study on the agency’s own site with a named client and real numbers. When a result exists only as a testimonial, we say so.
  2. ASO depth. The share of the Clutch service focus and reviews that is actually about ASO or app marketing, not web design or paid social.
  3. Review freshness. Whether new reviews appeared in the last six months. We flag profiles with nothing new in 12+ months as stale.
  4. AI readiness. GEO, AEO or LLMO services, AI tooling, and a clear view on Apple’s AI-generated App Store Tags.
  5. Client-fit transparency. Published pricing or minimums, typical client stage, markets, languages and the pain points the agency says it solves.
  6. Recognition. Awards, partner directory listings and third-party rankings, checked at the source where possible.

An agency was dropped if we could not find any verifiable ASO result, whether a case study, a named client testimonial, or a third-party review. During our analysis, the line between top ASO companies and ASO tool vendors turned out to be thin. Three entries here are platforms with managed services on top, and we kept them because many app teams buy that way.

Here are the 11 best ASO agencies that earned a place on our list:

  1. Applica
  2. Phiture
  3. GrowPad
  4. yellowHEAD
  5. Gummicube
  6. Moburst
  7. App Masters
  8. Pickaso
  9. SplitMetrics
  10. AppTweak
  11. ASOdesk

1. Applica: Best for Subscription Apps in Health, Education and Fintech

Applica - best aso agency

Applica is a full-cycle mobile growth partner founded in Lviv in 2022. It now runs a 25+ person team across Europe and Latin America. Before launching the agency, the founders built their own consumer app, Laveer, which still holds a 4.7 rating on the App Store. That product background shapes how it treats ASO as one part of a wider growth system.

Key services

  • Keyword strategy built on a semantic core, keyword opportunity scoring, and store-specific ranking plans
  • Custom Product Pages for Apple and Custom Store Listings for Google Play, matched to acquisition channels
  • Creative A/B tests for icons, screenshots, video and CPPs
  • Localization adapted to regional search intent and culture, with ASO tool costs covered by the agency
  • App discovery in AI search (AEO), a dedicated step for visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI assistants

Case studies

Applica’s Meal Plan App case study is the strongest ASO proof we found on its site. The Mediterranean diet app grew US search downloads by 167% and US revenue by 101% in just two iterations. US keyword visibility rose 414%. The team got there through cross-localization, adding six new locales such as Arabic and Vietnamese that also feed the US store. The AirHelp flight tracker launch, localized for eight markets with pre-orders, has since passed 330,000 downloads.

Awards and recognition

Applica’s recognition page lists Clutch “Top” badges for mobile and app marketing and for conversion optimization. The agency is also listed in Adjust’s partner directory as a media agency.

Client fit

  • Type of business: B2C subscription apps in WellTech, EdTech and FinTech, plus travel, productivity and pet care. We found no game case studies.
  • Stage and size: Clutch shows 50% small businesses, 35% mid-market and 15% enterprise clients. Named clients include Drops, Fabulous, AirHelp and EF Hello. Applica does not publish an ARR threshold, but its contact form starts at a monthly budget bracket of “Under 10k.”
  • Regions and languages: Western Europe, Turkey and the Middle East, Asia Pacific and South America, according to Adjust.
  • Pain points: high CPI in fintech, weak store conversion in welltech, new market entry in edtech, and paid UA that never builds organic growth.

Clutch and reviews

Applica holds a 5.0 rating from 19 Clutch reviews. Mobile and app marketing makes up 50% of its service focus, with conversion optimization and UX/UI design at 20% each. When we sorted the reviews by topic, only one was titled ASO, and none covered SEO or GEO. The profile is active, with two reviews in the last six months and the latest in September 2026.

Pricing: Clutch shows a $5,000+ minimum project and $50 to $99 per hour.

Best for: subscription apps that want ASO tied to paywall tests, UA and revenue.

Not ideal for: mobile games, or enterprises that want a large agency bench.

Our take: Applica earned the top spot because its case studies report revenue next to downloads, which few agencies on this list publish. Its AEO step also shows it takes AI discovery seriously. The weak spot is third-party ASO proof, since most of its Clutch reviews cover conversion and design work.

2. Phiture: Best for Enterprise Apps That Want ASO

image.png

Phiture is a Berlin-based mobile growth consultancy founded in 2016 by Andy Carvell and Moritz Daan. Its team created the ASO Stack and Mobile Growth Stack frameworks. In February 2026, Phiture was acquired by Swedish Precis Group, and the founders stayed on to lead the business. Its 100+ people work from hubs in Berlin, London, New York, and Barcelona.

Key services

  • In-depth keyword research, competitive analysis and market-specific metadata
  • A/B testing of store assets with Apple and Google Play native tools or third-party platforms
  • Full localization of keywords, metadata and creatives
  • ASO audits sold as a one-off, a project or a retainer
  • Own AI products: PressPlay, an agentic ASO platform that generates and tests store assets, and Catchbase for Apple Ads bidding

Case studies

In the Headspace case study, systematic ASO raised visibility by 40% and search installs by 18% over about six months. Search installs in key non-English markets grew 40%. For Deezer’s launch in Turkey, the first keyword round lifted iOS downloads by 61%, followed by a 53% uplift on Android. When we cross-checked, Phiture’s ASO landing page rounds this result to 62%, while the case page says 61%.

Awards and recognition

Phiture ranks #6 in the Business of Apps 2026 list of top ASO companies. It was named app marketing agency of the year at the App Growth Awards 2019 and at the App Promotion Summit 2021. Co-founder Moritz Daan received the Outstanding Contribution award at the App Growth Awards 2024.

Client fit

  • Type of business: consumer apps and games, from Spotify, NordVPN and KAYAK to Wildlife Studios.
  • Stage and size: Phiture works with “well-funded scale-ups to globally recognised apps.” Clutch shows 55% enterprise clients. Very early apps are pointed to an audit first. ARR thresholds are not published.
  • Regions: case work covers Europe, South America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey.
  • Pain points: scaling into new markets and running store tests faster than an in-house team can.

Clutch and reviews

Phiture has a 4.9 rating from 21 Clutch reviews, and mobile and app marketing makes up 60% of its focus. Only six reviews are titled ASO, while nine cover CRM and retention work. None mention SEO or GEO. The latest review dates from July 2023, so the profile is stale.

Pricing: No public agency rates. Clutch lists a $25,000+ minimum project and $200 to $300 per hour. Catchbase starts at €1,500 per month.

Best for: funded apps that want ASO built on frameworks and constant experiments.

Not ideal for: indie or pre-launch apps on small budgets.

Our take: Phiture has some of the most detailed ASO case studies on this list, and PressPlay puts it ahead on AI-run testing. It ranks second, not first, because its Clutch profile has been quiet since 2023 and its entry ticket is the highest here. We also found no GEO or LLM visibility service.

3. GrowPad: Best for SaaS and Mobile-First Product Teams That Need ASO Plus AI Search Visibility

GrowPad - top aso agencies

GrowPad is an inbound growth agency for SaaS and B2B tech that runs SEO, GEO, AEO, LLMO, and link building as one system. Its ASO service brings the same approach to the App Store and Google Play for SaaS and mobile-first product teams. GrowPad’s ASO page sums up the reason: mobile apps are increasingly discovered through AI answers.

Founder Oleksii Andrusenko has more than 16 years of experience in SEO. At the Ukrainian agency Livepage, he moved from junior specialist to team lead and then CEO. In 2020, he left to start GrowPad, and he still reviews every client project.

Why does an SEO and GEO agency belong on an ASO list? For many SaaS and B2B products, the buyer meets the app long before the store page. They compare tools in Google, ask ChatGPT or Gemini for a shortlist, and only then install. GrowPad works on both ends of that path.

Key services

  • ASO strategy, keyword research and metadata for the App Store and Google Play
  • Conversion work on creatives, A/B tests, ratings and reviews
  • Localization across 20+ markets, plus in-app events
  • GEO and AEO for AI search, with monthly AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and AI Overviews
  • AI citation link building on the pages AI engines already cite for your buyer prompts

Case studies

GrowPad’s published case studies come from web and AI search work rather than app store rankings. For this guide, we picked the three closest to app products.

  • Onix Systems is a US-headquartered mobile and web software development company. Brand mentions in AI answers grew from 25 to 1,079 in four months. The brand became visible in 49 of 55 tracked prompts, up from 9.
  • CHI Software is a company that builds native and cross-platform apps for iOS and Android. GrowPad lifted its website visibility by 55% and tripled its Google Top-3 positions. AI search now brings 15% to 20% of the site’s total traffic.
  • A B2B IoT services company under NDA. Its app development page saw 5x traffic growth, and the core IoT page moved from #46 to #9 in four months.

Awards and recognition

In 2026, Clutch named GrowPad a Top SEO Company for SaaS and for IT. It also earned Top SEO Company and Top Link Building Company awards for Spain. When we checked Clutch’s rankings for Spain in October 2026, GrowPad was listed for both SEO and link building.

Client fit

  • Type of business: SaaS, B2B tech and software development companies. App development firms such as Onix-Systems, Cadabra Studio, Mind Studios and Softermii are among its Clutch reviewers.
  • Stage and size: companies with product-market fit, typically seed to Series B and roughly $500K to $20M ARR. Clutch shows 85% small businesses and 15% mid-market clients.
  • Regions and languages: teams scaling in EU and US markets, served from Alicante and Dnipro. ASO localization covers 20+ markets.
  • Pain points: traffic that brings too few demos, competitors that show up in AI answers first, and rankings lost after Google core updates.

Clutch and reviews

GrowPad holds a 5.0 rating from 39 Clutch reviews. SEO makes up 90% of its service focus, and generative engine optimization accounts for 60% of that SEO work.

Pricing: Services start at $3,000 per month, with link placements paid from a separate budget. A four-week SEO and AI Growth Sprint suits teams that want a plan before a longer commitment.

Best for: SaaS and mobile-first product teams whose installs depend on being found in Google and AI answers, not only in the store.

Not ideal for: pre-product startups, teams that need paid ads or social media management, and anyone expecting top rankings within 60 days.

Our take: We are the publisher, so here is the plain version. GrowPad is the strongest pick on this list when your app’s growth starts outside the store, in Google and AI search. If you need a pure store specialist with years of app store case studies, Applica or Phiture is the safer choice.

4. yellowHEAD: Best for Games and Consumer Brands That Want Creative-Heavy ASO

yellowHEAD was founded in 2013 by Gal Bar and Shai Karmi and runs teams in Israel and the US. It describes itself as a performance marketing agency “specializing in paid UA, ASO, SEO, GEO, CRO, creative, and more.” The agency cites work for 600+ brands.

Key services

  • Keyword research and metadata strategy
  • Screenshot optimization with separate playbooks for gaming, finance and dating apps
  • Custom Product Pages and A/B tests for icons and screenshots
  • Metadata and creative localization
  • GEO service with a free GEO Checker, plus the Alison AI platform for ad creative analysis

Case studies

yellowHEAD’s Canva case study shows how far one category decision can move results. Switching Canva’s Google Play category from Social to Photography drove a 1,417% rise in global acquisitions from the term “Photography.” In the US, the gain was 1,272%. For QuickBooks, short description A/B tests delivered 171% more organic installs and an 18% higher conversion rate. Neither case states a timeframe, which we noted as a gap.

Awards and recognition

The agency shows a Business of Apps 2026 award badge for Top App Marketing Companies. It was an App Growth Awards 2024 finalist for its work with Monopoly Go. Its Alison platform won Technical Innovation of the Year from The Drum in 2021.

Client fit

  • Type of business: mobile games and consumer brands, including Intuit QuickBooks, Airbnb, Tinder, Zynga, Canva and Wix.
  • Stage and size: Clutch shows 50% mid-market and 30% enterprise clients. Its UA Funding program targets growth-stage game studios with proven ROAS and says it has funded more than $10M.
  • Regions and languages: US and global campaigns. A language count for localization is not published.
  • Pain points: creative fatigue, scaling paid UA, and studios that need cash for UA without giving up equity.

Clutch and reviews

yellowHEAD has a 5.0 rating from 12 Clutch reviews. Mobile and app marketing is only 10% of its service focus, behind PPC and SEO at 20% each. Four reviews cover ASO, two cover SEO and none cover GEO. All 12 reviews date from 2023, so the profile is stale.

Pricing: Clutch lists a $5,000+ minimum project and $100 to $149 per hour.

Best for: games and consumer brands that want ASO, creative, UA and GEO from one partner.

Not ideal for: buyers who want a pure ASO specialist with recent independent reviews.

Our take: The Canva result is one of the clearest proofs on this list that ASO strategy goes beyond keywords. We weighted yellowHEAD’s creative depth and GEO offer highly. Its low ASO share on Clutch and the lack of fresh reviews kept it out of the top three.

5. Gummicube: Best for Enterprise Apps That Want Proprietary ASO Data

Gummicube has worked on ASO since 2009, according to its own About page. It became a division of Airship in 2022, which links ASO with Airship’s customer engagement platform. Co-founders Dave Bell and Anh Nguyen stayed on to run the division.

Key services

  • DATACUBE, its own keyword intelligence platform for the App Store and Google Play
  • Splitcube, a creative A/B testing tool that runs on paid traffic without changing the live listing
  • Apple Search Ads and Google Ads management
  • Reputation management, ASO measurement and app launch support

Case studies

The Carvana case study reports 81% more organic first-time installs and a 98% lift in download conversion. Keyword rankings grew 440%. For McAfee Safe Connect, organic search impressions rose 284% and organic search app units rose 118%.

Awards and recognition

Gummicube sits at #1 in the Business of Apps 2026 ASO ranking. The same page runs a Gummicube advertisement, so we read the placement with that in mind. Its Clutch profile shows no badges.

Client fit

  • Type of business: enterprise consumer brands and games, including Microsoft, LinkedIn, Bethesda, Grubhub, Sephora and Avis.
  • Stage and size: nearly three-quarters of revenue came from enterprise brands at the time of the Airship deal. Growth-stage apps such as SWEAT also appear. Clutch shows 50% mid-market clients.
  • Regions and languages: US-based with international work, such as a Japanese localization case for IMVU. No language count is published.
  • Pain points: low store visibility and weak conversion rates at scale.

Clutch and reviews

Gummicube holds a 5.0 rating from 7 Clutch reviews, with mobile and app marketing at 70% of its focus. All seven reviews cover ASO or app growth work, and none cover SEO or GEO. The latest one is from February 2023, so the profile is stale.

Pricing: No public prices. Clutch lists a $5,000+ minimum project.

Best for: enterprise and mid-market apps that want an ASO specialist with its own data and testing stack.

Not ideal for: teams that want GEO or AI search work, or recent third-party reviews.

Our take: Few agencies own both a keyword platform and a testing tool, and Gummicube’s case studies are rich in numbers. When we looked for AI-related services, we found only blog posts, with no GEO or AEO offer.

6. Moburst: Best for Enterprise Mobile Brands That Want ASO and AEO

Moburst - best app store optimization agencies

Moburst was founded in Israel in 2013 and is now headquartered in New York, with offices from San Francisco to London and Sofia. Founder Gilad Bechar has grown it through acquisitions, including Kitcaster in 2025 and Hyperzon in 2026. The agency now pitches itself around an “AI-Powered Growth Engine.”

Key services

  • Keyword and competitor research covering 5,000+ keywords
  • Metadata, store listing design and conversion A/B tests
  • ASO for In-App Events and Custom Product Pages
  • ASO localization in more than 25 languages, plus Apple Search Ads
  • AEO and AI SEO for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Meta AI and Grok

Case studies

In the Calm case study, organic installs grew 36% within six months, and keywords ranked in the top 15 rose 684%. For Microsoft Copilot, iOS installs in the UK grew 134% year over year as part of a seven-market program. Moburst also published an AEO result for NewDay USA, where AI visibility climbed from 8.4% to 13.8% in three months.

Awards and recognition

Moburst was named Digital Marketing Agency of the Year at the MMA SMARTIES X Global 2023. Adweek listed it among the fastest-growing agencies in 2024 for the third year running. It ranks #2 in the Business of Apps 2026 ASO list.

Client fit

  • Type of business: large consumer and tech brands such as Google, Uber, Samsung, Reddit, Calm and Microsoft, plus games like Bingo Blitz.
  • Stage and size: Clutch shows 55% are enterprise clients. Budget options on its contact form start at “Up to $10k” and go to “Over $5m.”
  • Regions and languages: the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Japan and France appear in case work, with localization in 25+ languages.
  • Pain points: flat organic growth at scale, multi-market launches and missing visibility in AI answers.

Clutch and reviews

Moburst has a 4.9 rating from 44 Clutch reviews, and mobile and app marketing is 70% of its focus. When we counted review titles ourselves, about half covered app marketing and eight named ASO directly. Only one review covered SEO, and none covered GEO. The latest review, from Microsoft, is dated May 2026.

Pricing: Clutch lists a $5,000+ minimum project and $150 to $199 per hour. Moburst reports an average 32% growth in organic downloads for ASO clients, a figure it publishes on its own blog.

Best for: enterprise mobile brands that want ASO, paid UA, creative and AEO from one full-service agency.

Not ideal for: indie or seed-stage apps.

Our take: Moburst pairs an ASO case for an AI assistant app with a published AEO result, and that combination stood out during our research. Its pricing and enterprise focus put it out of reach for smaller teams.

7. App Masters: Best for Indie Developers on a Fixed Budget

App Masters - top app store optimization agencies

App Masters is a small boutique agency in Danville, California, led by founder Steve P. Young. The team owns and runs 50+ apps of its own and hosts an app business podcast with more than 1,000 episodes. That hands-on background shapes a practical, low-commitment offer.

Key services

  • ASO projects and store listing optimization
  • Apple Search Ads management
  • Custom Product Pages, plus screenshot and icon design
  • In-app events strategy and app audits
  • Paywall templates and Google, Meta and TikTok ads on higher plans

Case studies

App Masters publishes its case studies as videos on its YouTube channel rather than as pages on its site. In one of them, How One App Generated $7,000 a Month With Win-Back Campaign, the team breaks down how a single win-back campaign added $7,000 in monthly revenue for an app. On the site itself, the strongest proof is a testimonial from Sortly’s founder, who says the agency’s strategies allowed us to be the #1 keyword in the App Store. The agency also says it has secured 12+ Apple features for clients.

Awards and recognition

We found no third-party awards. The agency lists press mentions in TechCrunch, VentureBeat and The Next Web.

Client fit

  • Type of business: consumer apps, with logos from Nextdoor, Wooga, Vivid Seats, Red Bull and SpotHero.
  • Stage and size: plans are split into “Indie Dev” and “Business” tabs. The Enterprise tier is meant for ad budgets over $100,000 per month.
  • Regions and languages: not published.
  • Pain points: low install-to-paid conversion, onboarding drop-off, weak paywalls and early churn.

Clutch and reviews

We could not find a Clutch profile for App Masters, and its G2 profile has no reviews.

Pricing: Published plans start at $1,000 per month for two ASO projects on one app. The Elevate plan costs $1,500 per month and adds Apple Search Ads and Custom Product Pages. Business plans run from $3,000 to $5,000 per month. Plans are month-to-month, and a one-on-one audit costs $499.

Best for: indie developers and small teams that want affordable monthly ASO with no lock-in.

Not ideal for: enterprises that need documented case studies or multi-language localization.

Our take: App Masters has the most transparent pricing we saw in this research. The lack of case studies and third-party reviews is a real gap. For a small app, the $499 audit is a low-risk way to test the fit.

8. Pickaso: Best for Apps Growing in Spain

Pickaso - best app store optimization agency

Pickaso calls itself Spain’s first native ASO and app marketing agency. It was founded in 2013 by Miriam Peláez and Daniel Peris and works fully remotely from its Barcelona base. The team of about 14 people combines ASO, UA and creator marketing.

Key services

  • Keyword and competitor research, metadata work and store A/B tests
  • In-app events, ratings and reviews management, and a custom ASO dashboard
  • Apple Ads, Google App Campaigns and TikTok UA
  • Influencer and UGC campaigns, audits and in-company training
  • GEO for apps, which monitors app visibility in ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Perplexity

Case studies

In the Himalaya case study, moving the audio learning app from Education to Books lifted App Store search downloads in Taiwan by 58%. Google Play search downloads in the US rose 47%, and keywords in the Top 1 grew 164% on the App Store. When we checked the case page, the 58% applied to Taiwan search downloads, not to all organic downloads. For GoTo, Custom Product Pages for Meta Ads drove 18% more installs and a 52% lower CPI.

Awards and recognition

We found no awards. Pickaso appears in Adjust’s partner directory and among the agency logos on AppTweak’s homepage.

Client fit

  • Type of business: ecommerce, marketplaces, fintech, utilities, entertainment and mobility apps such as Fnac, Cabify, Eroski and ATRESplayer.
  • Stage and size: from startups to large international brands. Revenue thresholds are not published.
  • Regions and languages: Spain first, with work in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, Turkey and the Middle East, and South America. The site is in Spanish only.
  • Pain points: local market expertise, ratings recovery, and visibility with Spanish-speaking audiences.

Clutch and reviews

Pickaso’s Clutch profile lists mobile and app marketing as 100% of its focus but has no reviews yet. Most of its case studies date from 2021 to 2023.

Pricing: Clutch lists a $5,000+ minimum project and $50 to $99 per hour. Pickaso offers both one-off projects and monthly packages.

Best for: Spanish-market apps that want ASO, UA and GEO from one small specialist team.

Not ideal for: buyers who need third-party reviews or recent case studies.

Our take: For European teams comparing top app store optimisation companies with real local depth, Pickaso is a strong choice for Spain. Its dedicated GEO for apps service puts it in the small group on this list that covers AI search. The missing reviews are the main risk.

9. SplitMetrics: Best for Gaming Apps That Want Managed ASO

SplitMetrics - best app store optimization companies

SplitMetrics is a mobile growth company founded in 2015 that combines app marketing software with a managed services team. Its agency arm, SplitMetrics Agency, says it has scaled 500+ apps over 10+ years in mobile marketing. Beyond ASO, the team covers paid UA, creative production and product optimization.

Key services

  • Fully managed ASO with keyword metadata, product page A/B tests, in-app event updates and daily rank monitoring
  • SplitMetrics Optimize for App Store A/B tests and pre-launch tests in a sandbox
  • SplitMetrics Acquire for Apple Ads automation, with the Iris AI agent that runs 50+ workflows, including ASO analysis and an ASO improvement plan
  • Multichannel UA across Apple Ads, Google App Campaigns, Meta, TikTok and Unity Ads
  • Creative production for store icons, screenshots, preview videos and ad assets

Case studies

For Farm Jam, a hybrid-casual game on Google Play, the agency built a quarterly calendar of store events and used every featuring slot it was given. Store listing visitors rose 399% and acquisitions rose 335% compared with the previous period. For textPlus, one standout screenshot test triggered a 59% spike in organic installs, and SplitMetrics credits that single change with 119K installs. Neither case states exact dates, which we noted as a gap.

Awards and recognition

SplitMetrics is listed in Apple’s Ads partner directory for campaign management and Custom Product Pages. It holds G2 High Performer and Momentum Leader badges from Winter 2025 and was an App Growth Awards 2022 winner. It is also a Google, Meta, TikTok and AppsFlyer partner, with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance.

Client fit

  • Type of business: games make up 40% of Clutch clients. Agency logos include Babbel, Flo, Glovo, Rakuten Viber, Skyscanner, Wargaming and Wooga.
  • Stage and size: Clutch shows 45% mid-market clients, which Clutch defines as $10M to $1B in revenue, and 30% enterprise. Acquire is free up to $25K in monthly Apple Ads spend, so smaller teams can start with the software.
  • Regions and languages: global launches with tailored localization for Tier-1 and high-growth markets. A language count is not published.
  • Pain points: connecting ASO with Apple Ads spend, testing store creatives quickly and keeping organic installs growing between releases.

Clutch and reviews

The SplitMetrics Growth Services profile has a 5.0 rating from 23 reviews. Mobile and app marketing is 40% of the focus, and SEO is 10%. Most visible reviews cover ASO. The latest review arrived in October 2026, but the one before it dates from December 2022. On G2, SplitMetrics Agency has a 4.9 rating from 31 reviews, with the newest from May 2026.

Pricing: No public agency rates. Clutch lists a $10,000+ minimum project and $200 to $300 per hour. On the pricing page, Acquire is free up to $25K in monthly ad spend, and the App Intelligence add-on costs $500 per month.

Best for: mid-market and gaming apps that want managed ASO, store testing and Apple Ads from one vendor.

Not ideal for: indie budgets that want hands-on agency help.

Our take: No other company on this list covers testing software, Apple Ads automation and agency work this completely. When we reviewed the agency case studies, neither stated exact dates, so ask for recent results in your category.

10. AppTweak: Best for Large Apps and Games That Want Data-Led ASO

AppTweak is a Brussels-based ASO and Apple Ads platform founded in 2014, with offices from San Francisco to Tokyo and Bengaluru. It raised a $22M Series B in 2021. Its consulting team works from the same dataset of 17 million keywords and 6 million apps across 100+ countries.

Key services

  • Keyword audits and recommendations
  • Creative research, design and A/B test strategy
  • Custom Product Page concepts and in-app events
  • Apple Ads campaign management, review sentiment analysis and BI dashboards, with consulting in 18+ languages
  • AI Visibility for Apps, launched in April 2026 to track how apps appear in ChatGPT and Gemini

Case studies

For iVisa, AppTweak’s managed services raised daily US search installs by over 140% in three months. Visibility grew over 130%, and total downloads rose 113.6%. In the King case study, the consulting team helped Candy Crush Soda Saga recover 100% of its installs from the keyword “soda.” This was a recovery to earlier levels, not new growth.

Awards and recognition

AppTweak won Best ASO Company at the App Growth Awards 2018, Best ASO Tool in 2021 and Best App Data Platform in 2022. It is listed in Apple’s Ads partner directory and holds ISO 27001 certification.

Client fit

  • Type of business: games and consumer apps. AppTweak says 2,000+ mobile teams use the platform.
  • Stage and size: consulting targets “the world’s largest apps & games” and comes with the Enterprise plan.
  • Regions and languages: case work in the US, UK and India, with consulting in 18+ languages.
  • Pain points: sudden keyword drops, competitor moves and the need to prove ASO impact with data.

Clutch and reviews

We could not find a Clutch profile for AppTweak. On G2, it holds a 4.6 rating from 208 reviews, which cover the platform rather than the consulting.

Pricing: Platform plans start at $79 per month. Consulting is included with the custom-priced Enterprise plan.

Best for: large app and game teams that want an enterprise data platform with expert consulting on top.

Not ideal for: small teams that want agency help without an Enterprise contract.

Our take: AppTweak’s AI Visibility product shows where app discovery is heading. We weighted this company’s data depth highly, but its consulting is built for enterprise buyers.

11. ASOdesk: Best for iOS-Heavy Apps Expanding Into Asian and Arabic Markets

ASOdesk - best app store optimization companies

ASOdesk is a keyword data platform established in 2016, and its agency now trades as Angle, headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus. Both belong to the Angle Group. The team started ASOdesk at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and many of its named clients come from CIS markets.

Key services

  • ASO audits, semantic core collection and metadata support across countries
  • Apple Search Ads on a pay-per-install or pay-per-action basis, with “No additional commission”
  • Seasonal and holiday localization for Asian markets, from $599
  • Custom Store Listings and consulting for Asian markets
  • Platform data such as Daily Impressions and Estimated Installs per keyword, across the App Store, Google Play, Huawei AppGallery and Amazon Appstore

Case studies

The ABBYY case shows 15% growth in App Store search installs in Japan for Business Card Reader over six years. TextGrabber’s yearly search installs in the UK grew 320%. Note that ABBYY ran this work with ASOdesk’s tools, not through the agency. Agency results appear only on Angle’s homepage, without separate pages. Simple App, a client since 2019, reports 15% more Apple Search Ads user acquisition.

Awards and recognition

ASOdesk reported eight G2 badges, including High Performer in ASO software, in an earlier Spring report. We found no current awards.

Client fit

  • Type of business: games and non-games, including Avito, Yandex, Wargaming, Municorn and Simple App.
  • Stage and size: startups with up to $20K MRR can get up to 80% off the platform for a year. Agency client size is not disclosed.
  • Regions and languages: the team works in Chinese and English, with linguistic research for Arabic, Asian and European languages.
  • Pain points: iOS keyword research, expensive Apple Search Ads, and localization for Asian markets and holiday seasons.

Clutch and reviews

We found no Clutch profile for ASOdesk or Angle. On G2, ASOdesk has a 4.6 rating from 44 reviews, but the newest dates from July 2023.

Pricing: A free plan covers 200 keywords for one app. ASO Pro costs $59 per month, or $47 per month billed annually. Agency work is quoted per project.

Best for: iOS-focused apps that want data-driven ASO and performance-priced Apple Search Ads.

Not ideal for: buyers who need recent third-party reviews or GEO work.

Our take: The pay-per-install Apple Search Ads model is unusual and lowers risk for the client. We could not verify agency case studies on dedicated pages, which weighed on its ranking.

How to Choose the Right ASO Agency for Your App

Picking the best ASO agency starts with an honest look at your stage, budget and markets. These five checks came straight out of our research.

  1. Match the entry price to your stage. Entry points here range from $1,000 per month at App Masters to a $25,000+ minimum project at Phiture. If you are pre-seed or bootstrapped, start with an audit or a platform plan.
  2. Ask for a case study in your category. A game studio and a fintech app need different playbooks. Ask for a case with a named client, a timeframe and a store-level metric such as search installs.
  3. Check how fresh the reviews are. Four of the twelve companies had no new Clutch or G2 review since 2023. Three had no reviews at all. Old praise says little about today’s team.
  4. Ask how they handle AI discovery. Apple builds App Store Tags from your metadata with LLMs, and Google is bringing app discovery into Gemini. Ask whether the agency tracks GEO, AEO and LLMO signals, not just keyword ranks. Among the top ASO and GEO agencies here, Applica, GrowPad, Moburst, yellowHEAD and Pickaso already sell this work.
  5. Decide between an agency and a tool. If you already have an in-house ASO lead, a platform like AppTweak, App Radar or ASOdesk may be enough. For teams that want hands-off execution, the best ASO companies are the full-service ones.

Conclusion

The best ASO agencies in 2026 still win on the basics of keywords, creatives and testing. What separates them now is how well they prepare an app for AI-driven discovery, in the store and beyond it. Applica leads this list for subscription apps that want ASO tied to revenue. Phiture and Moburst suit funded and enterprise brands. App Masters and ASOdesk are the budget-friendly entry points.

Some buyers find your product in Google and AI answers before they ever open the store. For that path, GrowPad is the best app store optimization agency on this list. We combine ASO with GEO, AEO and LLMO to make your product the answer wherever buyers search.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an ASO agency do?

An ASO agency improves how an app ranks and converts in the App Store and Google Play. The work covers keyword research, metadata, screenshots and video, A/B tests, ratings and localization. Many agencies also manage Apple Search Ads, because paid and organic search data inform each other.

How much do top app store optimization agencies charge?

In our October 2026 research, Clutch minimum projects ranged from $1,000 to $25,000+, and hourly rates on most profiles ran from $50 to $300. App Masters publishes plans from $1,000 per month, while platforms like AppTweak and App Radar start under $100 per month. Enterprise-focused agencies like Phiture and SplitMetrics Growth Services sit at the top of that range.

How long does ASO take to show results?

The case studies we reviewed with stated timeframes showed results within three to six months. AppTweak reported 140% more daily search installs for iVisa in three months, and Moburst grew Calm’s organic installs by 36% within six months. Category or metadata changes can move faster, while new markets and competitive keywords take longer.

Does ASO matter for AI search, GEO and AEO?

Yes, and the overlap keeps growing. Apple generates App Store Tags from your metadata with the help of AI, and Google is enabling app discovery in the Gemini app. An AppTweak survey found that 58% of U.S. adults have used an AI assistant to find or choose an app. That makes clear metadata, strong reviews and web mentions part of both ASO and GEO.

What is the best ASO company for a small app or indie developer?

The best app store optimization company for an indie app usually has low entry costs and no lock-in. App Masters offers month-to-month ASO from $1,000, and ASOdesk has a free plan for keyword research. Applica works with small and mid-size subscription apps from a $5,000 minimum project. Start with an audit before you commit to a retainer.

Should I hire an ASO agency or use an ASO tool?

Use a tool if someone in-house can turn keyword data into metadata and creative tests. Hire an agency if you need strategy, design and testing capacity, or if you are entering new markets. Several of the best app store optimization companies, such as AppTweak and SplitMetrics, offer both under one contract.

What should I ask an ASO agency before signing?

Ask for a case study in your app category with a named client and a timeframe. Ask who will do the work, which tools they use and whether tool costs are included. Finally, ask how they separate organic installs from paid installs and how they approach AI-generated App Store Tags.
